Sophia Michopoulou: Ex-play-ment is a bamboo structure out of a child’s paradise designed to Experiment and Play.

It’s a magical territory where kids explore and discover, they ascent or descent, they enter and exit, they climb or slide down, they hide and seek where the real world fade and the imagination can take over…

A large organic canopy that lies over the entire program to provide adequate shading from the intense sun and protection from the heavy rains creates a sheltered microcosm that adopts the kid’s scale. Bellow it lies a multi story journey with an open space at the ground floor and two slightly different floor levels above it that are connected in a common cluster of cocoon-like woven grid shell bamboo structure. From there little ones can admire a glimpse of the jungle nature around through the rounded openings that blur the boundary between internal and external space or cross the rounded doors and follow a path that can be either climbing from the front edge of the upper level or sliding through a helix slide at the center of the upper level or stepping through the staircase of the lower level to end up at the ground level.
