General Concept
Veliz Arquitecto: OVANE is a cabin conceived as an architectural metaphor: a leaf gently resting on a stone. This poetic gesture shapes a refuge immersed in the forest, which transcends habitation to become a sensorial, physical, and emotional experience. The roof, a skate ramp integrated into the architecture, redefines the use of the ceiling: from a technical element to a living, playful, and contemplative space.
Architectural Program
The cabin is organized on a single habitable level and a walkable roof:
Interior Area: Open space that combines the bedroom, living area, and integrated bathroom. The furniture and natural materials reinforce the connection with the surroundings.
Outdoor Area: Terrace with a small pool, fire pit, and lounge area.
Active Roof: Functional halfpipe-style ramp for skating and also for recreational or contemplative activities. Its organic geometry is born from the topography itself and the symbolic gesture of the sliding leaf.
Materials
The project is based on a palette of warm, natural materials: local wood, plant fibers, steel tension rods, exposed stone, and oxidized finishes. The architecture blends into the landscape without imposing it, aging gracefully alongside its surroundings.
Formal Strategy
The form of OVANE emerges from the balance between lightness and firmness. The stone base supports a dynamic and flexible structure, as if the building were floating. The ramp on the roof becomes a symbol: movement, energy, freedom.
