Nestled in the heart of Sector 10, Chandigarh, Peter Rabbit Cafe emerges as an oasis of warmth and tranquility amidst the bustling coffee scene. Since its inception, this quaint establishment has sought to carve out a distinct identity in a market saturated with commercial ventures, guided by the passion of its owners, who are true aficionados of both food and coffee culture. “The cafe’s design and ambiance are crafted around the idea of coffee evoking warmth and comfort, fostering a cozy space for patrons. Hence, we set out to design the cafe in a warm minimalistic theme,” say Palak & Saurabh, co-founders of Design i.O.
The overall mood exudes relaxation and snugness, perfectly complementing the experience of enjoying a cup of coffee. Minimalism takes center stage, with soft hues and sleek geometries, delicately woven into the fabric of the cafe's design, evoking a sense of zen-like serenity. Linear battens made out of Ash wood adorn the walls and the coffee bar, adding depth and contrast against the backdrop of neutral textured walls. The custom-crafted wooden furniture with cane accents, harmonizes with the overarching theme of the interiors. To add a touch of visual intrigue, peach-colored micro-topping is used on the floor, featuring brass inlays with whimsical rabbit motifs.
The rustic allure of the space is enhanced by artisanal lights, meticulously crafted from banana paper by Oorja. Emitting a gentle warmth, these lights, suspended above the coffee bar, illuminate the baristas at work, accentuating the artistry of the brewing process. Custom-shaped planters, brimming with foliage including Palm and Snake plants, further enhance the ambiance, infusing the space with natural tranquility. As you settle into your seat, enveloped by the soft rustle of leaves and the soothing hum of conversation, allow yourself to be transported into a realm where time stands still and each sip of coffee is savored with mindful appreciation.
