Mona Bouzarda: A concept house on the coast of southern Portugal. The location`s materials are condensed into the building - sandstone, slate, red earth, granite, rippled glass and metal. Sliding walls, doors and curtains create an open floorpan, adjusting to the time of day and function.
The bungalow is nestled into the rocky coast in the south of Portugal, next to Praia da Ingrina. The landscape is reflected in its design by natural edges and curves. The concrete and building materials almost seem to melt into the existing ground. This way of building is often seen along beaches, stairs, ramps, natural pools and little houses seem to melt into the natural stone formations of the coast. (Reference images on my behance site)
The glas and metal reflect the golden light of the sun like the water does along the shore. The open floorpan allows nature to be part of the day. Sliding doors and curtains adapt to daytime and function of the space and invite the surrounding inside.
