A brand new, award-winning eco-home in the chic village of Boston Spa has been specified to the highest standards, including solutions from leading manufacturer of performance architectural lighting, Lucent Lighting.

The home – named Hightrees - was designed for a private client by architects Southgate and Sarabia. The specialist, luxury residence is set in a beautiful countryside location, on the outskirts of the popular village. The brief was to create a contemporary take on a classic rustic barn – bringing together modern architecture and the latest technologies, with agricultural charm.

The sophisticated and outstanding interior design is the work of Kelly Poole from Kudos Interior Design. Her work has clearly captured the attention of the design community, as Hightrees was crowned the winner of the ‘Interior Decoration – Private Residence’ category at the recent Northern Design Awards 2024.

To achieve the ambitious lighting scheme that blends aesthetics with high performance and eco-credentials, solutions from Lucent’s extensive portfolio were specified and installed.

Across the home, Lucent’s Prospex Plus Conical Recessed Trimless LED adjustable downlighter has been used, in a classic white finish. Complementing this is the Prospex Plus Conical Recessed Trimless LED wall-wash downlighter, also in white. These solutions are IP-rated to IP20 through the property and IP54 in the swimming pool and bathrooms, adding additional protection and durability.

Other solutions used in the build include Lucent’s InGround60 recessed LED Uplighter in brushed stainless steel and InWall 50 Low Level Recessed LED wall light in a white finish.

To provide additional discrete illumination in the property, various lengths of Lucent’s LED strip light have been chosen for indirect lighting.

Giovanni Premi, Project Manager from Lucent Lighting said: “Hightrees is a thoughtfully designed new home, that perfectly amalgamates striking architecture, luxury and comfort, with a commitment to sustainability and reduced carbon footprint. Knowing that Lucent Lighting has been specified in such an outstanding project is a true testament to the comprehensive nature of our portfolio. We offer a plethora of solutions that meet even the most stringent of demands. The result is a spectacular home that offers comfort, with beautiful aesthetics and unrivalled levels of sustainability.”
