With the Fieldhouse project, architecture office MoDusArchitects inserts a new material milestone into the South Tyrolean landscape with inclusive spaces dedicated to sports and recreation. Located in the small town of Laghetti (Egna Municipality, Bolzano) nearby the riverbanks of the Adige river, the building sits at the foothills of Mount Corno whose natural reserve park forms a dramatic backdrop to the sports facility.

The form was inspired by the sloping site and how we could create a bold point of difference on a site that sat far beneath the street level. We aimed to perch the building within the landscape, like a rock juxtaposed in nature and creating a monolithic street presence.

Located in Merida, Yucatan, Caustic House is a tiny house with a cozy living, outdoor kitchen, and private showroom. The swimming lane passes through entire house refreshing the social area, the dynamic pattern facade imitates the effect of caustic water with the arrangement of brick. The game of shadows is different every time throughout the year.

As a result of the slope of the site and in order to maximize its potential, we converted the first-floor level, which according to the client was dedicated to the main living space, kitchen, rooms, and guest service, into two mezzanine levels. During this process, the main living space and the kitchen have a smaller level difference in terms of access than the entrance. In addition, they also benefit from a high height of almost two floors.
