A zipper and buckle factory in a South Tel Aviv location, which is transforming into an Arts and Crafts haven, was converted into an exhibition space and Artist’s Studio. Rather than deleting the “factory feel” and creating a white-walled cube for art, the elements of the new exhibition space were “injected” into the factory space. The exhibition space is located at the street level, whereas the studio is on the first floor, and consists of a space for creation and recreation.

The project is developing 8,000 m², nearly 40% of which will be devoted to hosting a predominantly catering and leisure program, in the form of a large rock-climbing room. The office program will host the flex office brand Newton Offices. The programmatic diversity of the project creates a building who lives in several rhythms. Each to their own turn, the different uses enliven the project throughout throughout the day. As the seasons go by, life unfolds or folds up on the square and the terraces.

The transformation this property has undergone is certainly impressive. The ground floor apartment already had a super spacious private area, but it was barren and neglected. The interior was quite dark, with closed, small and poorly ventilated rooms. In the renovation, the rooms were integrated and their layout changed completely. As the apartment has few windows, the spaces with more natural light were used for the activities that André likes the most: the place with a skylight, for example, which was previously occupied by the laundry room, was transformed into the kitchen. The two bathrooms and three bedrooms have also been completely renovated.

The landscape was an essential element to develop this project along with the site topography. The main concept to this design was to keep privacy while to explore visual amplitude and nature connection.

This project consists of a complete remodeling; where facades and interiors were intervened giving a complete turn to how the spaces are lived. The leader of this project was the client himself, who took care of every detail making this collaboration much more enriching.

This project was developed for the Ukrainian brand the COAT by Katya Silchenko. The women’s ready-to-wear brand was founded by Kateryna Silchenko in 2014. The designer draws inspiration from women around, who are strong, passionate, and subtle at the same time. The design specifications turned out to be quite peculiar since the space was divided into two areas. The first part was functioning as a showroom, designed by another architectural bureau a few years ago. The other one was a studio.
