Design i.O was commissioned with the task of crafting a 3400 sq. ft. office area for a pharmaceutical company, located on the first level of their independent manufacturing facility on the outskirts of Chandigarh. Specializing in the development of high-quality medicines with cutting-edge technology, the company's essence served as our guiding principle. Our objective was evident - to subtly mirror their fundamental mission. Hence, we formulated an office space that emanates luxury and sophistication while upholding a refined, minimalist style.
Considering the necessity to accommodate frequent visits from clients, the areas for visitor access were designed to possess an aesthetically captivating quality. Conversely, the workspaces for teams were kept tidy and free from clutter, prioritizing practicality. The design narrative traverses through various spaces, each possessing its unique function, character, and material essence. However, unified in shades of grey, they seamlessly blend together, akin to different musical notes, resulting in the project's monikter- "Symphony of the Greys."
The color scheme, anchored in tones of grey, black, and white, ensures a cohesive visual identity across the office. Noteworthy is the grey-brown wood veneer from Decowood, adding a hint of warmth and refinement. The flooring comprises a blend of grey and black in-situ terrazzo and textured tiles, with Panda marble utilized in specific furniture pieces, exuding an aura of opulence. Complementing these primary materials are concrete textures, solid-colored laminates, and black and white accents, harmoniously balancing the palette. Subtle touches of green and tan fabrics inject moments of visual interest.
The layout was meticulously planned to facilitate a smooth transition between departments, fostering effective collaboration. Stainless steel inlays within the terrazzo and rounded corners imbue the space with a sense of energy and fluidity, guiding the eye visually. Abundant natural light filters in through the glass facade, enveloping most areas in its soft glow. Fluted wooden blinds are incorporated to soften the glare from the west-facing sunlight, creating a play of light and shadow.
The reception area was intricately designed to leave a lasting impression. Inspired by Basalt rock formations, a backdrop of wood veneer is accentuated by suspended linear light fixtures. A distinctive reception table, adorned in Panda marble, exudes grandeur, setting the tone for every visitor's experience.
"Symphony of the Greys" transcends traditional norms, seamlessly blending functionality, elegance, and a touch of luxury. It stands as a tribute to the company's dedication to excellence, evident in every detail. This pharmaceutical office transcends its role as merely a workspace; it embodies a statement of purpose and aesthetics in perfect synchronization.
