GM Arquitectos: Casa Suiza 3 is an architectural proposal that stands out for its natural, harmonious, and contemporary design, based on the use of raw materials such as exposed and polished concrete, natural brick, steel, white quarry stone, and wood. These elements, along with a careful integration of natural light through domes, windows, and double-height ceilings, generate warm, open spaces in constant dialogue with the surroundings.
One of the main challenges of the project was to optimize every square meter of the limited-size lot. This spatial restriction required a highly efficient design approach, where every decision had to add functional and aesthetic value to the whole. The open layout of the ground floor—which integrates the kitchen, dining room, living room, and terrace—responds to this need to maximize space, eliminating physical and visual barriers to create a sense of spaciousness.
Furthermore, the project was developed under a strategy of resource optimization without compromising architectural quality, warmth, harmony, and comfort. The choice of honest, affordable, and durable materials kept costs down while reinforcing the home's aesthetic identity. This economy of resources resulted in creative and functional solutions that respond to both the client's needs and the surroundings.
The upper floor houses three functionally designed bedrooms. The master bedroom opens onto an interior courtyard through a large window, allowing for optimal natural lighting and ventilation without compromising privacy. The two secondary bedrooms share a bathroom and a sink area, promoting efficient use of space.
Finally, the project incorporates a basement, conceived as an introspective space, ideal for creative pursuits such as music and art. This intimate space fosters concentration and inspiration, complementing the architectural design with a more personal and intimate dimension. Overall, Casa Suiza 3 is an expression of honest and sensitive architecture, where the optimization of space, the conscious use of resources, and respect for materials come together to create an authentic, livable, and vibrant home.
