Finoarte Design Bureau based in Moscow developed an interior of a premium seafood restaurant BARCA located in the Levashovsky bakery area — a new cultural and business space in Saint Petersburg, Russia. Kitchen of this brand-new gastronomic project was staged by an acclaimed brand chef Rustam Tangirov, formerly responsible for top restaurants, such as Sixty in Moscow and Regions in St. Petersburg, as well as a food designer, author of cookbooks and host of culinary TV shows.

Igor Belyaev, the founder of finoarte, describes the concept — “BARCA is located in a building where architecture was preserved in the original 20th century style. Interior concept was inspired by the story of a barge (*boat) moored on the shore of a dark, cold village. Central element of the main room is a large table in the shape of a boat, custom-made from natural walnut veneer. A lamp covered with gold leaf applied by hand rises above the table. Numerous details throughout the restaurant create the presence effect, including decorative partitions in the form of huge oars made of solid pine, which look like they were prepared for the next voyage. A natural wood shindle, traditionally used to cover the roofs of old houses, was laid along the perimeter of the radius wall. Most of the furniture chosen for space was custom made”.

Main hall of the restaurant includes 68 seats, and there is a VIP room allocated for more intimate events, which additionally contains a unique wine collection with three hundred bottles brought from the best wineries in the world. The interior is synchronous with menu, the main part of which consists of various types of seafood and rare varieties of fish from different places — from the Arctic to Sri Lanka and Mauritius.

Chef suggests starting your acquaintance with restaurant cuisine with a choice of oysters, sea urchins and five types of caviar. For appetizers guests can order crab meat with fresh vegetables, sweet shrimp veil and Far Eastern scallop crudo. Main course menu includes pike perch pie with caviar sauce, trout in apple glaze and gnocchi with crab. In a separate menu they collected wild fish and grilled steaks, including premium Japanese Wagyu beef.

BARCA was created for the most discerning clients and perfectly complements an extensive portfolio of sophisticated interiors created by the finoarte team.
