Rohit Dhote / Envisarch: The design aims to enable the possibility of enjoying marine biodiversity via architectural intervention. The architectural form was inspired by the amphibian animal family which can survive both on land and in water. The house mimics this trait of the amphibian by having the structure partially submerged in water and partially above it.
This creates a very interesting experience for the users inside the house. The waves hitting the glass facade and the sound of the ocean take the users closer to the marine life enabling them to experience the marine ecosystem throughout the home. The design just hints at the various possibilities in which architecture can flourish human habitat in so many different ways!
