Armani Architects: Our design approach is driven by futuristic and bold design for a wine cultural center.
All museums have a role to play in shaping and creating a sustainable future through our various programs, partnerships and operations. Museums give meaning to our past and make it meaningful today - a solid path upon which we can build our future.
Our design will build the foundations of a new sustainable development, where barriers between nature, buildings, and artificial intelligence will be removed. The views and the landscape have always been the primary pro- tagonists of the design.
The project is influenced by traditional architecture, and it’s redefined to context -oriented architecture. It’s adapts to the potentials on the site like a part of landscape that’s lifted from the ground and invite guests into building.
IDEA OF THE PROJECT:
The project was designed with the elements and qualities of the architecture of ancient villages of China in mind. It is formed in a rectangular site in order to respond to the requested guidelines in the program. The plan is divided into four sections, as they separate, a space is formed in the middle which is designed to create a connecting space, and activate public activities. In order to improve the landscape quality we have placed a river in middle. The river is situated beside the commercial spaces and shops. These spaces are designed to be reminiscent of traditional Chinese markets as well as the floating villages and cities.
Pixelate volumetric cells were used to design the spaces. These pixels go back and forth in the middle walls to create a unique spaces feature. The ceiling of this complex is designed in the waffle pattern consisting of rhombus shapes. This project is futuristic and is designed with Chinese architectural tradition features in mind.
Essential components of these Traditional buildings are:
Wooden columns, the walls don’t have a structural purpose thus they don’t serve as weight bearing walls and they do not hold the ceiling, they are put in place as separating blades and curtains. Within the limits of this formula, Chinese architecture focuses its attention on the facade of the building. We wanted to include nature in this project so we added as much natural features as possible to this complex.
The plan circulation provides a different spatial element and has stunning views for the visitors. The building will provide amazing viewing opportunities for the guests of the hotels as well as visitors who come to see the museum. As they are walking or riding boats in complex river towards the outdoor and covered plazas the guests will stroll though and experience different features, the guests can also enjoy the beautiful.
INSPIRATION
Our project design is highly affected by the project site’s surroundingenvironment.
Visitors will access site by an external ramp that leads to the upper level, designed to “emphasise its relationship with the site”.
The site seamlessly rises from the surrounding landscape and gently unfolds into the site . The terrain fluidly becomes the roof, inviting guests to walk towards the slopes. This creates a better connection between the surrounding fields and the building. Inspired by merging rice fields in China and wine farms in landscape, the slabs tilt softly to merge, creating a continius path for exterior circulation. The expanded slabs create views and scenic landscape tranparency, while also forming accessible terraces for amenities tucked.
Landscape Strategy an integrated solution
The movement in this project is planned based on respect for humans and nature in a way that (plus shape) route, we have built a river among the land uses in order to reach the desired places as well as the sensoryexperience of boat riding and shopping from commercial centers and reaching expo and hotel along the river path.
By designing this route in the riverbed, visitors can visit the entire site on a tour of the river and share their experiences with their friends and family.
This route exists around the uses and inside the museum.
MATERIALS AND BUILDABILITY
The roof is covered in shingled panels that reference traditional, these panels add texture and depth to the building roof and create evocative light and transparency effects below.
The exhibition and cultural offerings are experienced as a sequence of spaces, beginning with an exterior waiting area in the landscape, leading to a themed exhibition space with interactive installations and cultural offerings.
Elevation
The strategy is to increase the top of the surfaces for the hotel and expo development program. In addition to daring, it is a special landmark.
