StudioHB: Nestled in the jumbled setting of Cheeka, a small town in Haryana, the renovation of the house, fueled by the client's aspiration to modernize, is a bold minimalist statement that speaks to the global zeitgeist.

Clean lines and simple materials provide a sense of order and calm in the midst of the chaotic suburban landscape, creating a visual oasis.

The exterior of the house is clad in a combination of stone and metal. The scheme of stone and the perforated projection were derived from the client's need to cover the front yard, in compliance with Vastu principles, without blocking the natural light. The white shot-blasted Gwalior sandstone acts as a blank canvas for the dynamic articulation of light and shadow by the metal louvers, and adds a touch of texture and depth. The projection is a composition of masses of louvers and voids that let greens grow out of it and eventually take over the metal structure. Overall, the metal louvers lend a sense of lightness and movement, in contrast to the solidity of stone-clad blocks.

The interiors are an extension of the exterior material palette. The neutral palette of white is offset by accents of black and wood, creating a sense of minimalism and sophistication with large windows and a skylight flooding the space with brightness and warmth.
