GUK Design Studio: The Aurora Villa enjoys a unique and captivating location. Positioned atop a hill surrounded by a forested environment, it offers a pristine and tranquil atmosphere as its foremost characteristic. With this in mind, we aimed to extend this sense of serenity into the spatial design as well.
To achieve this, we employed a grounded design approach with an emphasis on horizontal lines, making the project appear as if it naturally rests on the hill. Instead of expanding vertically, we designed the villa to extend across the project site, fostering a continuous and harmonious connection with the surrounding landscape.
For us, the relationship with nature and enhancing the quality of light and views in all spaces—both large and small—were of utmost importance. To achieve this, we incorporated recesses into the external walls, creating skylights and garden spaces that bring in natural light and greenery.
Following the same principle, the entrance pathway from the parking area to the villa was designed using horizontal lines and fluid movements along the topography to ensure that it blends seamlessly with the natural landscape, free from any sense of imposition or disruption.
