Architect Amelia Tavella gives new life to the only thermal spa in the Mediterranean. Located on the shores of the Étang de Thau, the future spa combines the atmosphere of ancient thermal baths with perfect integration into the local geology. The new thermal baths will feature over 3,000 m² dedicated to wellness treatments, including the renowned thermal mud. It will also include a 4,000 m² Hot Springs Park, centered around a true Mediterranean botanical garden.

Architect Amelia Tavella has chosen to direct the view toward the Étang de Thau and orchestrate a meeting between geology and genealogy. She embraces the remains of both a recent and ancient past, reinventing without destroying, delicately composing with the existing structure:

"I have a desire to search for the memory of Maimona, revealing from the ground, in the manner of an archaeologist, the traces of its past. The new thermal spa will be a meeting between geology and genealogy. Our architecture aims to reinvent without destroying, delicately composing with the existing structure: to be reborn without denying."

Writer Nina Bouraoui speaks to us about this metamorphosis:

"Mirror architecture, its new stones are inspired by the first ones. It shows, exposes what we no longer see. It builds from the ruins, in the hollow of the Thau lagoon and the Gardiole massif. It opens up to the future while keeping the furrows of the past. It follows the plans of another time, enhancing columns, pillars, phantom floors."
