The High Street Apartments is Gardiner Architects’ first high-rise multi-residential project. Located in Thornbury, Melbourne, the project is a mixed-use building, with thirteen apartments above a ground floor carpark and restaurant fronting High Street. Differing from your usual apartment development model, there was an imperative for our client to create something sustainable, robust and well-designed for the longer-term.

Concept: The deep dark green colour has become dominant in the space, even enveloping. That creates a sense of intimacy and depth, as if visitors are inside a wine bottle. The interiors of the restaurant and bar have the same style, but still differ in details. For example, for the dynamic mood the floor covering in the bar is made more colourful.

Domain Architects: Surrounded by unfinished building site, wasted land and industrial sites, this project is definitely not blessed with a beautiful site. This hotel near a scenic area consists of 48 rooms, an independent restaurant, a banquet hall, swimming pools, underground parking and spaces preserved for later phase development.

On the Hauptstrasse in Berlin Schöneberg GRAFT revitalized the historical post office premises, expanding it with two new buildings and converting the original rooftops for commercial purposes. Thus a 32,000m² modern ensemble accessible to the public was created comprising offices, restaurants, retail outlets and apartments.

Defined by the surrounding urban fabric of the district’s avenues and parks, Zugló City Centre weaves new public squares and gardens through the heart of the design to connect with the re-established natural ecosystem at Rákos Creek; creating a network of interconnected gardens and plazas lined with restaurants and cafes, shops, apartments and offices as well as a new medical clinic and town hall.

Located in the Valle de Guadalupe and Ensenada, Hotel H aims to create an extension of the ecological site on which it sits. The full development is on a 50-hectare hilly site. The hotel consists of interlinked concrete spheres and comprises a bar, business center, restaurant, lounges, lobby, and swimming pool, with pods on the periphery of this core.

"BISTRO NIQ" is based on the concept of [dining that not only satisfies your stomach, but also satisfies your mind and heart] with a focus on ingredients. The configuration of "WILD & COOL" cut costs while retaining an industrial feel. We aimed to strengthen the image of a “steak restaurant” and produced a “sizzle feeling”. In addition, using recycled materials and waste materials, we also selected MATERIAL in the direction of "cutting costs while creating a cool finish!"

Merging Japanese sophistication and simplicity with the rugged and powerful Pacific coastline. Located on the shores of the Pacific Ocean, the new Nobu Los Cabos Resort is the embodiment of Japanese Mexican fusion. Opening up to expansive views of the ocean, interior and exterior spaces fuse together in seamless transition. Our role encompassed the design of the hotel interior and Nobu restaurant.
