Congratulations to our old friend "Co-Restaurant 蔻" for being selected in the "Michelin Guide Selected Restaurants" for two consecutive years. The new location is at the Huashang Financial Center in Chengdu, and this time Gokan Studio will create a more fitting spatial experience for it.
This planning concept focuses on the harmonious unity of space and dining experience. Through design, the aim is to align the space with the restaurant's characteristics without overshadowing the main attraction. On the contrary, design is treated as the background of the cuisine, becoming the complement to the refined presentation of the food. The core is the balance between nature and human, allowing guests to enjoy top-tier dishes while also experiencing an intangible sense of tranquility and comfort in the environment.
In terms of design materials, the restaurant uses earth-sand-colored paint, paired with natural wood and stone to echo the simplicity and warmth of nature. This subtle yet rich selection of tones makes the entire space exude a gentle atmosphere, resonating with Chef Yang's delicate multi-course dishes.
Chef Yang combines seasonal ingredients with the flavor memories of the coastal areas of Zhejiang and Fujian, complemented by his experiences in Europe, to bring diners a unique multi-sensory dining experience. Our design provides a balanced and comfortable stage for this visual and gastronomic feast.
During the design process, we avoided making the space overly self-assertive. Instead, through delicate lighting treatments and the application of soft materials, we created an "invisible" design effect. The use of wood and stone allows the space to blend with the natural atmosphere, while the earth-sand-colored walls add a sense of rustic weight to the overall environment without distracting the diners.
Every detail in the space revolves around the concept of "comfort" and "nature," ensuring that guests can experience a sense of mental peace and satisfaction while enjoying the cuisine. We hope that at Co-, guests will not only enjoy the culinary artistry brought by Chef Yang but also feel the tranquility, belonging, and warmth conveyed by the space.
The design ultimately presents, in a low-key and elegant manner, a harmonious coexistence between people and the environment, where food and space naturally intertwine on this stage to achieve a perfect balance.
