Hot Design Folks, a Singapore-based interior design studio with 15 years of expertise in hospitality design, has completed the new Bakery & Pizzeria — Baker & Cook and Plank Sourdough Pizza at Dairy Farm. Spanning 88 m², the space seamlessly blends artisanal heritage with modern design, crafting an environment where culinary artistry becomes part of the visual experience.
“Our goal was to design a space where the art of bread and pizza making is not just observed but becomes an integral part of the guest experience,” explains Evgeniya Lazareva, founder of Hot Design Folks.
The material palette centers around limestone in honed and split-face textures, forming a commanding central counter. Whitewashed brick walls and light timber finishes heighten the inviting atmosphere, while the Plank Sourdough Pizza area integrates rustic pine planks—a signature element of the brand. At the heart of the space, a wood-fired pizza oven, visible from the street, draws in passersby with its warm glow, turning the baking process into a spectacle.
A communal table, seamlessly extending from the bread counter, anchors the seating arrangement, accompanied by plush banquette seating upholstered in textiles reminiscent of traditional flour sacks. Curated furniture pieces from Karimoku New Standard, GUBI, Maruni, Pedrali, New Volumes, and HAY introduce a refined yet welcoming aesthetic, elevating the overall atmosphere.
Accommodating 48 guests — with 35 indoor seats and 13 on the outdoor terrace—the venue features meticulously chosen finishes, including timber veneer acoustic ceiling panels, custom pine wood millwork, Dekton quartz surfaces, and artisanal limewash wall treatments. Together, these elements create a cohesive, warm, and inviting environment where guests are encouraged to linger.
