Mylandscapes: Snuggled in Holborn Central London, this natural roof garden is all about nature’s care. Teeming with local wildlife, this modern garden space is part of an indoor-outdoor London penthouse for our Australian clients who run a large wildlife reserve in NSW. 30 custom-made planters demarcate various zones to lounge and socialise, enveloped lushly by a profusion of cascading plants. There’s an awning, irrigation, lighting, furniture, hammock & bifolding doors which connect the roof garden to the residnece. There are trees, edibles, herbs, natives, bulbs, grasses & perennials, with 90 plant species over 75sqm in a highly generous biodiversity, while a ⅓ of all the plant species are deciduous trees. Hazelnut, Rosemary, Thyme, Witch Hazel, Willow, Buddleja & Elderberry are underplanted with Primrose, Cyclamen, Scabiosa, Armeria, Campanula, Stachys & Viola. We practise organic upkeep here, introducing annelids and nematodes, hand weeding, using peat-free compost, composting and rainwater harvesting, barring herbicides & pesticides & not pruning til springtime to sustain winter shelter for fauna.
