José Manuel Martínez Márquez: Casa JAPA is a majestic 18th-century mansion located in the heart of Campeche’s Historic Fortified District, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This architectural rehabilitation project has transformed a colonial residence into a private luxury lodging experience, meticulously respecting its original essence and historical elements.

The main goal was to revitalize a historic property by preserving its heritage character while integrating modern comforts. The vision was to create a space offering intimacy, tranquility, and connection—allowing guests to fully immerse themselves in Campeche’s rich culture and serene atmosphere.

The architectural intervention focused on preserving the original elements of the mansion, such as its generous spaces and the soft light that fills them, achieving a cool and elegant ambiance. The interior design blends colonial details with contemporary touches, creating an atmosphere that invites rest and contemplation.

Located within walking distance of the main square, the sea, and adjacent to a church, Casa JAPA is in a privileged area that allows visitors to easily explore the city and its surroundings.
