Parisa Ghargaz: The Desert Flower Project is a eco-camp located in the heart of the dry and vast deserts of Texas. This project is inspired by the Pilosocereus pachycladus cactus, which plays a significant role in the design due to its cylindrical shape and unique texture. The Desert Flower Camp is constructed using natural materials such as stone and wood, and its architecture is designed to blend seamlessly with the surrounding environment.

In this project, several cylindrical stone towers of varying heights and diameters are arranged in an organic cluster. The stones used in these towers feature natural earthy hues such as beige and warm brown, with vertical grooves carved into their surfaces, mimicking the texture of cactus skin. These grooves are artistically crafted, creating a natural and organic atmosphere. Frameless windows are strategically placed within the towers to allow natural light to flow inside while aligning seamlessly with the stone walls. The towers are surrounded by horizontal wooden beams and slats, which create a remarkable connection between the stone and wood, giving the project a rustic and authentic beauty. Furthermore, each tower is adorned with sculptural elements inspired by desert flora, including carvings of cactus flowers and abstract patterns that particularly reference the desert environment.

The pathways of the camp are made of wood and stone, leading to eco-friendly tents and communal areas where guests can rest and immerse themselves in the natural beauty of the desert. The central courtyard of the camp features live cacti, desert plants, and a water feature, all thoughtfully designed to support environmental balance and sustainability. The Desert Flower Camp offers a peaceful and immersive experience in the Texas desert, where architecture seamlessly blends with the natural environment. The goal of this project is not only to create a space for rest and escape from daily life but also to promote awareness about the importance of preserving nature and the harmony between humans and the environment. Through the use of natural materials, thoughtful design, and respect for the environment, this camp provides a unique and unforgettable experience for its guests.
