Iroom Studio: In the heart of Moscow, a modern 150 m² apartment designed by Sergey Tregubov and Olga Savchenko transforms the idea of home into a bold and intimate retreat for a young couple planning to expand their family. The clients immediately fell in love with the concept of a dark, enveloping interior. “Dark shades create a cocoon-like atmosphere, transforming the home into a perfect place to relax,” Sergey explains.
The living room, dining area, and kitchen merge into a spacious 45 m² open-plan zone. At its core, the designers crafted a "patio area" featuring a hanging fireplace, pergolas, and outdoor chairs. Natural materials and textures evoke the feeling of being outdoors, making this the owners' favorite spot. “Here, we feel like we’re immersed in nature, even in the heart of a bustling city,” the owners remark.
The private zone, covering 26 m², includes the master bedroom, a walk-in closet, and a bathroom. The centerpiece of the bedroom, a bed framed by a striking partition of vertical rotating panels, creates a poetic interplay of light and shadow, imbuing the space with a sense of rhythm and vitality. This innovative element adds movement and dynamic texture to the room.
The bathroom is a sanctuary of contrasts, captivating with its bold black finish illuminated by glowing portals and the invigorating warmth of red backlighting in the shower. These chromotherapy elements delight the senses while energizing the body. Despite its elongated layout, the bathroom remains remarkably functional and elegant. A glass partition divides the space, while a freestanding sink and a charred wood panel with an oval mirror emphasize depth and sophistication.
The future children’s room is designed in deep green tones paired with soft gray accents, creating a warm yet neutral atmosphere. Matte surfaces, eco-friendly finishes, and tactile textures play a pivotal role in adding comfort and sophistication. “It’s essential that every object in the interior brings pleasure not only visually but also physically,” notes Sergey Tregubov.
Throughout the apartment, furniture blends Italian luxury with bespoke craftsmanship. Built-in storage systems and a laundry room, discreetly hidden behind a mirrored door, enhance functionality without compromising aesthetics. Custom elements, such as the intricate bedroom partition by Stoletto and the kitchen furniture crafted with innovative materials by Slotex, add a personal touch.
In the children’s room, a cabinet adorned with a bear illustration serves as a playful yet symbolic totem, safeguarding the comfort and tranquility of its future occupant.
“I always aim to incorporate emotional elements into my interiors,” Sergey emphasizes. “During the design process, I try to see the world through the client’s eyes. That’s how spaces are born where you genuinely want to live.”
