Insightful architecture strives to make the most of the space it inhabits. Duly, the Aggarwal residence in Jalandhar is conceived by Space Race Architects to make the 7000 built area feel like much more, when it meets the eye.
Spanning in the plot size of 22800 sft, sits The Foliage House. The name is interestingly derived from the beautiful green patch of plot our client had. The plot is located in a developing suburb of Ahmedabad.
Perched atop the apartments of a renowned township in the evolving outskirts of Jalandhar, the penthouse interior designed by Space Race Architects integrates functional coherence with the aesthetic of subtle splendor. The project spreads over 10,000 sq.ft. area accommodating luxurious built spaces that flank pockets of landscape along the periphery.
This project was based on the concept of dynamics and its local origins- Michelangelo on his search for dynamics and his highest form of expression in the Painting of the "universal justice" where two fingers (of God and man) both in motion, come together but never touch, the maintain the small void between them as the "moment", the instant of what will come next.
We approached the reconstruction of the 130-year-old cottage in Jizera Mountains as a preparation. We searched for different qualities, materials and places in the old building, we made everything accessible and visible. Behind the cottage, where the annex used to be, we added a glass mass that extends the living space of the lower floor. The contrast and harmony between the classical room and the new extension is what our architectural game was all about.
Finding comfort and naturalness in an apartment that is perfectly imperfect. Comfortability comes in the elements that are entirely natural, like stone, ceramics, wood, and even linen textiles. This apartment offers a 180-degree view of the sea and is based on the Japanese Wabi-Sabi interior concept. Wabi refers to the materials' genuineness and naturalness.
This concept directly echoes Dali’s works depicted in a form of architectural reinterpretation, titled the House of Dali. The house is located in a deserted coastal area with minimal backdrops similar to the artists’ paintings.
This project arises from this idea. The circle. Seeking to adapt to an irregular terrain in the city of Querétaro, with a slope of 4 m from the height of the street to the bottom of the terrain. So that the house could adapt to this and settle this monolithic piece in the center of it.
