An engineering and design fusion marvel completed recently by the team at Ds2 Architecture. Earlier this year, as part of the Global Summit for Woodworking and Furniture Production Technology at BIEC, Bangalore, India showcase, Marvin Leather featured a fusion of design thinking and materials. Though, the life cycle of exhibition spaces and installation periods between opening and dismantling are typically short, but DS2 made sure it left its mark.
The idea was to incorporate both aesthetic and elemental qualities of the leather exhibit. The arches have been adapted in the design to signify a monumental relation to the leather being displayed. The open floor plan to the stall was made to accommodate the circulation of people in and out of the stall easy as it was a corner spot with aisles on three/four sides. For the purpose of making the customer feel welcome, the interior is designed to target their psychological preference for seeing colour first over a dark background, the walls are all painted black to emphasize the colour options.
In order to achieve a distinctive look for Marvin, installations and displays were tailored to the stall and showroom. The central focal tree co-relates to the brands Carbon Natural collection of exquisite leather.
