Mylandscapes: Nestled above the picturesque North Downs in Surrey in the English countryside, this luxuriant roof garden design is a biodiverse refuge for owners & wildlife. Featuring an abundance of biota-amiable plants grown in 50 bespoke planters, there’s focal point interest throughout every season. The bespoke planters create 3 main areas for displaying modern sculpture by the art collectors clients, situated symmetrically within orthogonal troughs as the predominant focal points. Our clients have moved  into a new modern penthouse apartment from a large country home, where this rooftop garden is of great importance for their well-being, for socialising & displaying art.

The planters are made from 3mm high-grade aluminium and powder-coated in limited-edition colours. The walls were decorated in a deep Tuscan red colour which creates dramatic shadows as the sun moves across the space, projecting through tree branches. There are numerous aromatic herbs scattered beneath the larger plants. There’s a profusion of autumn grasses, while 11 tree species include Paperbark maple, Amelanchier, Azara, Cornus, Osmanthus, Cotoneaster, Euonymus, Witch hazel, Chilean myrtle, Persian ironwood & a Japanese snowbell. Many of the trees were selected in multi-stemmed outlines to provide grace & wind resistance.
