Temporary Garden that Preserves 100% of Biodiversity has Vertical Perforated Element and Drainage Floo
The MUSGO studio creates a 100% sustainable installation that can be dismantled without leaving any trace in the environment.
The concept of sustainability takes on a new dimension in the ‘Garden of Discoveries’, a project by landscape designer Denis Bessa for CASACOR 2025. At the head of the MUSGO Studio, the professional developed a fully reversible installation, in which each element was conceived to be reused after the event, which takes place from 27 May to 3 August in São Paulo.
A new form of landscaping
Located at the entrance to the circuit of the former mansion, the space has transformed a plot of land with a steep 1.50-metre slope into an experiential garden. "Instead of just observing, we wanted visitors to experience and connect deeply with nature," explains Denis Bessa. The ingenious solution involved the use of some 3,000 bags of soil for containment and levelling, all strategically placed for future reuse. The floor was installed on three layers of reinforced tarpaulin, completely dispensing with the use of concrete, an innovation that allows it to be completely dismantled without leaving permanent residue
Biodiversity first
The 900 plants that make up the garden remained in pots throughout the event, avoiding unnecessary transplantation. Around 90% of the species are indigenous, chosen to enhance local biodiversity. After the exhibition, the native plants will be revitalised in situ, while the rest will be sent to the MUSGO Studio nursery.
Innovation in design
One of the highlights of the project are the cobogó walls, developed in collaboration with Lepri. The landscape architect made unprecedented use of a vertically installed draining floor, creating a structural element that runs around the perimeter of the space. The clay and natural sand bricks were mortared together on a metal structure, allowing them to be dismantled with precision for later reuse.
Design furniture
The project also features Brazilian furniture signed by names such as Zanini de Zanine, Guilherme Wentz and BUNKER, which will also be incorporated into the studio's new works after the event.
This is MUSGO Studio's debut with an exclusive space at CASACOR, consolidating the brand as a reference in sustainable landscaping that creates meaningful connections between environments, people and nature..
