INS Studio: A local roastery cafe, built on and old shophouse with its default three stories building. The first floor is designed to be the coffee shop and roasting area, while the other two stories above are utilized as bread production area and green coffee bean storage.

Architect changes the existing look of the old building by covering the facade of the building using 9mm Glass Reinforced Concrete material with dark coarsed texture finishing so then the smoke from the coffee roasting machine would not seem to taint the facade wall.

Main interior on the first floor is designed dominantly with clean white color and a touch of wood material on the floor and some of the furniture. The coffee roasting area is placed close to the main entrance in order to show the process of coffee roasting from raw coffee beans to its packaging directly to the customer. It would be part of what the customers will experience from this coffee shop and roastery.

Other iconic things from this coffee shop is the utilization of white paper cup from the old coffee shop which has already been stored for more than 5 years and they cannot be used anymore. Architect decides to use this 700 paper cup to be part of the interior decoration by placing around 400 paper cup as the coffee bar facades and the rest goes to the rear rack on the seating area. The paper cup placement on the rear rack and the coffee bar facades should bring message on utilization of plastic cup and its lid as an interior element without being thrown directly as trash. It is an interesting element to be added on this roastery cafe.
