This SAOTA designed family home is positioned below Lion’s Head; with views of Table Mountain, Lion’s Head, Signal Hill, the city of Cape Town and the mountains of the Boland and the winelands in the distance, the architecture is shaped to take in as much of the surrounding as is possible.

This lake house is on Lake Chelan’s south shore and looks north up the reach of this fifty-mile-long lake as it winds its way through the North Cascades. Glaciers feed the lake and account for its stunning azure blue color. Lake Chelan is noted for its hot arid climate, clear waters, and Alps-like scenery.

Mr. Jalili’s villa is located on a 430 square meter land with a relatively steep slope in one of the heights of the summer village of Haft, one of the villages of Amol city. The design of this villa was done in 2018. The main demands of the employer included two items. First, create two spaces with different accesses, one for the employer family and the other for acquaintances to use. And the second case is the maximum enjoyment of the scenery around the land.

Located in the mountainous region of the State of São Paulo, this project embodies the desire for the architecture to emerge from nature, being as much a part of it as the existing surroundings.

Due to the topography of the site and client’s wishes, it was needed to arrange a series of layers, shaped based on topography, on top of each other in other to define required floors of need. In the next step the layers curved into 3d surfaces to create a continuity between different floors.

Finding the right space for the exhibition of these pieces was thus crucial in the interior design project entrusted to architects Maurício Magarão and Alice Lindenberg, from Magarão + Lindenberg Arquitetura, with a mission to make Art into the real protagonist of this house’s 250 m² social areas comprising a lounge, a dining room, a stair hall and a restroom.
