This is a collective housing building on a regular plot in the heart of Porto, on Passeio de São Lázaro. The building has two fronts, one oriented for the Passeio de São Lázaro and the other to the interior. It also has a small patio that was allocated to one of the aparta- ment.
How an interior is born? At what moment an image appears? We don’t have a certain script. Many of the ideas for this project came to our minds when we first visited the apartment. So, we had a wonderful space with high ceilings, lots of daylight and a splendid view. Our task was to show and highlight all the advantages. Designing in such a case should be very empathetic and nuanced.
Once you have plans to move out of your parent’s place to live independently, you need to look for a place to suit your needs. Some prefer to stay with other people in a shared house, but others want their privacy after work or school. If you want maximum privacy, you need to get an apartment.
Switzerland is known for its class, poise and sophistication. Think about it: Swiss chocolates, Swiss watches, Swiss suits… There’s something elegant about Swiss style, which transcends every aspect of culture, including fashion and real estate.
We created this project for our client, as for a person who works at home, loves cooking and does not like unnecessary details in the interior, as, by the way, we do. The basis of the interior is the bedroom, which is separated from the kitchen-living room by a glass partition and at the same time seems to be an integral part of one large space. The bedroom is dominated by wood, because this room should be the most comfortable in the apartment.
When you're renting an apartment, making it feel like home can be a challenge, especially if you're not allowed to paint or make any major changes to the walls. However, there are various ways to decorate your apartment for rent without causing damage or risking your security deposit.
The interior of this project can not be called simple. We have long and carefully worked out his style to combine modern details with elements of vintage. We selected warm wood and soft textures of carpets and textiles, mixed them with steel tables, recycled plastic and old mirror frames.
Finding comfort and naturalness in an apartment that is perfectly imperfect. Comfortability comes in the elements that are entirely natural, like stone, ceramics, wood, and even linen textiles. This apartment offers a 180-degree view of the sea and is based on the Japanese Wabi-Sabi interior concept. Wabi refers to the materials' genuineness and naturalness.
