The Iranian architecture studio Rvad Studio designed the Tagh Behesht a mixed use building in Mashhad, Iran. 

In the first meetings with the clients, they wanted to carry out a project that could add spaces. The elongated shape of the land conditions the implementation of the project, we have a narrow facade of 10 meters long; in addition, looking for compactness and total connection between rooms leads us to look for design options to introduce light and solar heat effectively inside.

Maximising living space between rammed concrete and a cork roof.  A flexible residence by rundzwei Architekten.  The young office rundzwei Architekten has realised an unusual residence with a cork facade and roof. A base of rammed concrete lies below the ground level. Above, skilfully stacked split levels, which allow for flexible use, are accessed via a central, atrium like staircase.

This pristine contemporary home is located on the west coast 90kms north of Cape Town bordered by a nature reserve adjoining the ocean. Sites like this don’t come much more spectacular. LIQUID FRICTIONS brings together the work of 15 artists from around the world who draw and extract from a myriad of present conditions and histories. Pre- sented within the context of a unique imaginary space designed by Italian architect Riccardo Fornoni, the space exists as a combination of ancient ruination, tra- ditional architectural forms and contemporary sensibili- ties.
