This townhouse in Shenzhen used to be a completely different look. The colonial-style and complicated decoration that was popular in a certain era in China, is no longer fit for current life. The owner of the house, a rational and logical lawyer, after experiencing the ‘past tense’ living experience for a short time, decided to invite KiKi ARCHi to do a renovation, and create a relaxed and free-living environment for his family.

This 6-storey townhouse is located in Nanshan District, Shenzhen, surrounded by lakes and dense forests. It enables owners to take a journey to Shenzhen Bay and the South China Sea right from their front door. Drawing on various artworks of both Chinese and foreign masters of art, the designers mix Eastern elegance or Western aesthetics, Chinese charm or French classics, colourful ink or black and white minimalism, to infuse the space with different artistic spirits, making the space not only skillfully crafted but also rhythmical.

The Chang family house is a typical Taiwanese modern townhouse built in 2005, located in Fongshan, Kaohsiung. Living in the building for over 15 years, I think some things can be improved. Project 305-36 is to address the problems and redo the programming according to the living style of my family.

Located in the heart of London’s Fitzrovia, this Georgian townhouse underwent extensive renovation to accommodate a new multi-purpose office. Originally built in the 1760s and grade II listed in 1989, the building’s historic fabric was compromised on a number of occasions. Outside of the refronting that occurred in the 1950s, the most notable loss was the original internal layout, which, subject to 20th Century office needs, was heavily compartmentalized.

A radical remodel of a 1990s attic apartment in Prague Libeň. We are in the attic of a 1930s townhouse in Prague Libeň. An apartment was built here in the 1990s. But there were too many rooms, more than the client needed, anyway. The joy of open attic space was lost in the clutter. Our task was to find it again.
