Reform is pleased to announce that its REFLECT kitchen, designed by acclaimed French architect Jean Nouvel, is featured in VitraHaus’ latest installation, The Art of Living. The installation is a curated display of modern living spaces, blending classic and contemporary furniture, art, and design objects into a harmonious and inviting environment.
Located on the second floor of the VitraHaus, The Art of Living takes its starting point at the spiral staircase, offering visitors a panoramic view of the Vitra Campus before stepping into a space where modern living comes to life through three distinct areas — kitchen, living room, and home office.
As a focal point of the kitchen area, Reform’s REFLECT collection is displayed—a kitchen design that merges Jean Nouvel’s architectural vision with Reform's Scandinavian design philosophy. The layout is defined by a central island and appliance modules that integrate seamlessly with the architecture, maintaining an airy and balanced atmosphere.
The REFLECT kitchen stands as a statement, showcasing Nouvel’s talent for conceptualizing light through materials as the kitchen’s reflective surface in stainless steel subtly interacts with the surroundings, creating a constantly changing visual expression. The sleek design features monochrome fronts with vertical ridges, adding an understated yet luxurious touch to the space.
The installation is characterized by a rich mix of materials, with the kitchen acting as an industrial counterpoint to softer elements such as wood, textiles, and marble as displayed throughout the remainder of the setting.
“The interplay of contrasting materials creates a sense of subtle tension. With graphic flair and elegance, we've reinterpreted the spirit of the 1980s for today, ” says Till Weber, Creative Director, Interiors & Scenography. This collaboration between Reform and VitraHaus, two brands dedicated to the art of modern living, showcases the power of design to transform everyday spaces into beautiful, functional works of art.
