Jaco Booyens Architect together with SAOTA restores Buffelsdrift, an award-winning farm located west of Ladismith in the arid Klein Karoo region of South Africa. SAOTA specialises in contemporary architecture and has designed luxury homes around the world, however, when SAOTA Director, Greg Truen acquired the farm in 2016 it was important to him to maintain the integrity of the heritage farm buildings and an adaptive approach to the conservation and restoration was taken. 

The Maltese apartment was designed to integrate with the architectural language and characteristics of other projects by DAAA Haus, whilst reflecting the modern international lifestyle of the owner. Using modern architectural values, it combines modern elements by using modern materials in their raw form (exposed concrete wall, natural finished wood).

Architect Rafael Pardo's buildings are almost sculptural: concrete prisms intersecting to form domestic spaces.
