Throughout the years, Mexican cities had experimented urban and regulation changes -sometimes unplanned- due to the demand of living spaces, creating a void and density difference between the downtown neighborhoods and the outside suburbs.
This is the apartment for a young man, located in an old house built in 1874, in the historic district of Kyiv. The owner leads an active social life, admires the ideas of Bauhaus school, connects with artists and painters. We wanted to make an unique apartment, with its individual features and character. It was to reflect the preferences and ideas of the owner's way of life.
There is an opinion that the ideal shape is a circle. We believe that the ideal form does not have a definite name. In this project, we tried to emphasize the beauty of the generally accepted concept of irregular shape.
Kaunas is a project of a modern style two-storey apartment with a spacious terrace. It is important to start the description of this interior with a person that will live in it. This is a young man from Lithuania who sometimes comes to Kyiv with his family.
Renovation of an early 1900’s apartment in a tenement house. We tailored this renovation of an apartment from the turn of the 19th century in Prague’s Bubeneč district to young clients with two, perhaps three little creatures. The clients, together with the space and place as such, were the primary source of inspiration – their requirements, lifestyle, and the feeling they evoke.
There are some projects that no matter what, even if you are 8 months pregnant, in the middle of August, with a 3-year-old daughter, you just can't say "NO" to them. Even though I was due to have another baby right before the end of this project, I just couldn't refuse. Right from the beginning I realized we are very close neighbors. How close? only 30 steps DOOR TO DOOR.
For the new Fragment Apartments we have come up with a unique and visually strong architecture, which is responsive to the context, both past and future. In addition to formal and functional aspects, a natural connection to the surrounding public space is what extends the building out, makes it more accessible and completes it visually and functionally.
The apartment in the South-West of Moscow is situated in one the last representatives of Stalinist architecture houses. «The Red Houses» were built based on projects developed by Mosproekt workshop #3 under guidance of the architect A.V. Vlasov.
