A new house where the architects worked with the clients for about twelve years before they started building. The 1200sq.m. home is situated on a 4000sq.m. east sloping/facing stand though the house itself is north facing with the major rooms having the view to the east.
Located in the Portuguese town of Oeiras, Casa CM is an architectural response to the irregular morphology of the allotment where it is inserted. The project consisted in developing an ‘earthen-house’ that could take advantage of the characteristics and topography of the site, conserving the existing trees.
The basic idea of this project was to visually interweave the living space with its surroundings. In the first step, the most important points of view were identified via google earth. These visual landmarks in this project include the Leopoldkron Castle, the Leopoldskorner pond, the fortress Hohensalzburg and the Untersberg.

The original 60 m² building has been fully restored and converted into two apartments: a two-floor 4 ½ and a 3 ½ on the second floor.

The Valencia-based architecture studio Fran Silvestre Arquitectos has recently completed Pati Blau a minimal residence located in Valencia, Spain. It was in the Muslim era when the so-called farmhouses were concentrating the population of the Ribera Alta, although some of these settlements had an Iberian origin. Over time these population centers have become places connected to the big city in a simple way and with an enviable quality of life.
