SELVA VIVA by DAAA Haus - A Design Oasis in the Urban Jungle.
For Fuorisalone 2025, DAAA Haus, an architecture and design studio with offices in Malta, Milan, and Ragusa, presents Selva Viva - an installation in the heart of the Durini Design District.
From April 7 to 12, located in a historic building on Via San Damiano 2, will be transformed into a hidden green retreat filled with lush plants, decorative artifacts and designer collaborative pieces. The space will offer visitors a serene pause to breathe, unwind over a drink and reflect on the profound power of nature.
This year, the Salone del Mobile embraces themes of sustainability, technology, and innovation, highlighting eco-friendly materials and smart furniture solutions. In alignment with these themes, Selva Viva is more than just a mere installation. Selva Viva is an ecosystem designed to remind visitors that nature is essential not only for its beauty but also for collective well-being. A full immersion in lush greenery, filtered light, and organic fragrances will allow visitors to appreciate the quiet power of nature. Selva Viva will serve as a manifesto for biophilic design, an invitation to integrate nature into our spaces in meaningful ways and underscoring that true design innovation does not replace nature but works in harmony with it.
Several strategic partners have collaborated on Selva Viva, and DAAA Haus will present a selection of new projects developed with some of them.
These include BLOOM which is an ornamental outdoor lamp being the first collaboration with Contardi Lighting, an Italian brand known for refined, high-impact decorative lighting design.
Another highlight is TRAME, a rug collection inspired by rolling agricultural landscapes, designed by Keith Pillow, DAAA Haus’ own creative director, for Cardex in collaboration with Jaipur Rugs, an Indian company renowned for its high-quality carpets.
The HERA collection, created with Palladio Concepts, consists of modular, stackable elements that can be used individually as tables or seating. Additional custom-designed pieces, developed by the Vicenza-based company specializing in eco-friendly coverings, design, and contract furniture, will also be on display.
STONECUTZ by DAAA Haus for Halmann is a collection of home accessories that varies from candle holders and bookends to trays, crafted from discarded marble fragments of various shapes and colors. DAAA Haus were inspired from observing the significant surplus of high-quality material generated from luxury marble production and transformed these remnants honoring craftsmanship and material integrity, merging past and future in objects of beauty and resilience.
Emphasizing the olfactory experience, DAAA Haus introduces 1983 MEDITERRANEAN SUMMER, a candle infused with notes of citrus, cinnamon, and seaside aromas evoking a journey back to the romantic nostalgia of sun-drenched seaside days in 1983.
For the green setting, DAAA Haus partnered with ILA, an Italian company specializing in interior landscaping for over 30 years. ILA combines 100% natural, hand-treated and sculpted tree trunks with high-quality artificial foliage. This semi-natural technique ensures lifelike, unique creations that require no maintenance, even in spaces without natural light.
