STUDIO 40: Forest is a restaurant of modern gastronomy for every day. This is the first casual food format of its kindadapted to Yekaterinburg, Russia. Philosophy - nothing in a restaurant should distract from gastronomy.
The restaurant is equipped with large stained-glass windows that overlook the pedestrian embankment of the Iset Riverand the arboretum opposite. Instead of traditional fabric curtains, lightweight wooden shutters are used to ensuremaximum visual connection with nature.
The restaurant is located on the ground floor of the Riviera residential complex with two main entrances: from the embankment and from the inner gallery. In summer, access to the terrace is added. The entrance lobby has a triangularshape and a limited area, which complicated the planning solution.
For optimal use of space, we used rounded walls, columns and dividers that harmoniously fit into the interior. An unusualmirror at the entrance visually expands the space and at the same time allows you to immediately see the hostess stand.
The interior is designed in a modern style with a natural color scheme: beige-gray shades and green accents. The mainfinishing material is wood: suspended ceiling islands made of veneer, walls — veneered MDF panels, tabletops made ofelm slabs, podstoles — made of solid wood with a unique star-shaped shape resembling trees in the forest. The floor is made of cement-polymer terrazzo with Ural stones, which took about two months to process.
The main focus of the interior is a seven—meter botanical bas-relief created by the Ural sculptor Elsa Bashirova. For itsproduction, live plants ordered from Holland were used, which adds green shades and a natural atmosphere.
