For many years, swimming pools have been associated with status and leisure promoting comfort and an opportunity to cool off from the scorching sun as well as an opportunity to exercise and have fun with friends and families. However, water features added to a plain and generic pool will turn the backyard into an enchanting and beautiful experience. The purpose of this essay is therefore to show how pool water features can be classified, their importance as well as tips to consider if one is to incorporate pools water features in their pool.

Water features, in particular at pools, come in various kinds and can be mainly categorized according to the following:

Water features that belong to the pools are of different types, and they all can provide different emotions by visions and sounds. Some of the most common types include waterfalls, fountains, bubblers, and scuppers in referring to hardscape features.

Waterfalls are popular; many resembling natural waterfalls and are designed as such. They can be built into rock masses or to modern construction as centerpieces. The cascading of water gives it a positive feel to the ambiance thus creating a perfect relaxing atmosphere.

Some of the features of fountains are: Fountains come in many styles and can be installed indoors and outdoors, they can also be adapted to fit any pool configuration. Thus, fountains range from mere spouts to sophisticated constructions that include several levels in the middle of the pool. These can be installed at the core of the pool, on the side as well as be incorporated into the pool floor.

Bubblers or gushers are waterspouts which spurt water from the bottom of the pool. They are typically installed in water depths of less than 300mm, for example in tanning ledges or splash pads and are an entertaining and engaging amusement for kids and adults.

Scuppers are strictly channels and are small in width to facilitate the free drainage of water from one level to the other example from a parapet into the pool. They can be of different dimensions, and they come with a clean and modern aesthetic look complementing the pool.

Aesthetic and Functional Benefits

Water features incorporated into a pool design provide several style and practical advantages. Looking from the perspective of aesthetics, water features introduce dynamics into the space, making even a still pool a living attraction. Water and light can produce fantastic reflections and patterns on the pool, which makes this facility look beautiful at daytime and in the nighttime.

Auditory benefits are equal to them: Listening, processing, analyzing, and using language, understanding, and following instructions, and sound discrimination. This means that the sound of water falling reduces unfavorable noises that may be emanating from other roads or houses. This makes the surrounding less noisy, reduces intrusions and provides the much-needed privacy to users of the pool.

In functionality, water features may add great value to the experience of a swimming pool. For instance, waterfalls and fountains keep the occupants on their toes to ensure that the water is constantly circulated so that filtration occurs and there is little need for chemical add ons.

But it can result in the water being much cleaner and healthier for swimmers, and perhaps that is what is most important. Also, the unique additions such as bubblers and scuppers add some water jets that may be used as water massage for swimmers.

A critical look at the design of water features

Some of the issues that should be considered when planning to incorporate water features into the pool designs are as follows: The first aspect, therefore, is the architecture/ design/look and feel of the pool and its surroundings. Water features should be in harmony with the other features of the locality like the natural environment, rustic design, or a new modern outlook etc.

Regarding color, brightness and contrast, size and scale of the water feature should also be in correct proportion to the size of the pool and backyard area. This is important to consider when deciding on Arizona pool water features for your home. A very big waterfall may look out of place in a small pool; on the same note a very small one may look like a bubbler in a region with a very big expanse of water.

There is always a need to develop a good balance that would simply bring out the beauty of the pool without compromising it. Another important consideration is budget. Water features can be cheap to expensive depending on the design and materials used to build them. A budget must be determined from the start of the planning process and then a pool designer should be consulted to identify some of the factors that can be incorporated in a given budget whilst meeting the goals of the holder.

Maintenance is one of the activities that are not well understood enough. Any water features are designed to provide needed detail and thus need maintenance for it to perform its intended role and also look appealing. They may involve cleaning of filters, examination of the pumps as well as elimination of debris, among others. Thus, homeowners should expect to have costs in performing maintenance works on water features that they choose.

Thus, pool water features are a diverse beneficial approach to the formation of swimming pools as a necessary element of a dwelling house. Beginning with the calming water feature such as the waterfall and elaborate with the bubblers these can turn a routine water pool into a beautiful marvel. Thus, with some precautions in the choice of design, scale, cost, and subsequent care for the pond, people can create the necessary water features that will add majesty to the territory and turn the pool into a real tropical island.

Regardless of the intent, recreational, entertainment, or appreciation of the aesthetics of the moving water, the water features for pools are incredibly useful additions to the swimming pool structure.
