A new art object called “Russian Quintessential” was opened at the Archstoyanie festival. The author of the project is Chief Architect of Moscow Sergey Kuznetsov. Philosophical reflections on the future of Russian architecture have been put into practice thanks to unique engineering solutions and modern construction technologies.

Wagstaffe House is the realisation of a dream to live in the trees overlooking the water. The layout consists of public and private wings that create a raised courtyard, open on one side to frame the view and create a place of refuge from the elements.

Situated alongside a lava flow dating from 1801 on the leeward coast of Hawaii, this 10,361-square-foot residence was designed as a modern interpretation of indigenous island architecture and a way to connect the occupants to nature, the region, and its culture. Rather than orienting the house directly to the view, the home’s living spaces are set at an angle, resulting in glancing coastal views that reveal the visual drama of the natural setting.

Embedded into the landscape, ‘Ha Ha Haus’ is located in a leafy pocket of Alphington (Wurundjeri Country) where front fences are a refreshingly rare sighting.
