Viktoriia Butvina: Calm and relaxed is the leitmotif of this apartment, which is located in a quiet neighborhood of Saint Petersburg. The project was conceived as a gift for a young girl for the new school year, so the designers faced a difficult task - to perform a huge amount of work in a short time and to hand over the apartment to the customer by September 1.
The minimalist style sets the tone for the whole project and serves as a guide in the selection of colors, shapes and textures. The interior is dominated by calm shades of beige and brown, which are slightly muted by a noble gray monochrome. Natural natural materials and dim light scenarios support the general stylistics of the project and enhance the feeling of serenity and peace.
Thanks to a well-designed concept, it was possible to create a dressing room, which is separated from the bedroom by an accent glass door Sofia, and to place a storage system and a laundry room in the hall. In the bedroom, several types of wall covering were used: architectural paint with Mons suede effect combined with interior matte paint, which made it possible to highlight the wall at the headboard of the bed and enhance the atmosphere of coziness and privacy of the room. The cabinet furniture made of American walnut veneer looks stylish and laconic, and in order not to weigh down the space, the usual bedside tables were abandoned, replacing them with compact shelves made of solid American walnut.
The spacious bed with a comfortable orthopedic askona mattress offers a good night's sleep and a good night's rest. The textile of the Oro premium bed in a dusty cream shade is supported by drapes, whose soft folds hide natural stone window sills. An aged ice-colored rug on the floor gives the room a lived-in look. The author's ceramics and Valeria Rodionycheva's painting “Embrace” give a slight hint that this is a maiden's bedroom.
The key feature of the bedroom interior is Orac panels with built-in perimeter lighting, which creates an interesting play of volumes on different planes. Local lighting is provided by discreet Lussole lamps on long pendants above the bed and a table lamp on the desk to match them. The decorative box above the table covers the air conditioner and repeats the pattern of the wall panels with vertical grids. In the dining room we managed to place everything necessary for cooking: work surfaces, built-in appliances and a complete storage system for kitchen utensils. The round dining table does not take up much space, and the mirror behind it creates an illusion of space depth. We have not forgotten about the zone for resting, receiving guests and watching your favorite movies. Practical in maintenance large- format porcelain stoneware Laparet does not create visual noise, and textured wall panels support the overall style of the project.
The bathroom is finished with a combination of two types of porcelain tiles and several lighting scenarios. Despite the small area, here is designed and implemented a storage system for linen and various beauty trifles, which are so necessary for girls, but everything remained within the given minimalist concept.
The project of the apartment-gift succeeded on five plus and pleased its new owner, who despite the active lifestyle, dreamed of such a quiet and even somewhat ascetic space for life, where nothing distracts from their own thoughts and does not interfere with relaxation, and the verified design solutions and the comfort created thanks to them will contribute to this.
