Magarão + Lindenberg Arq: The renovation of this four-bedroom apartment in Leblon started with the need to bring more natural light into the social area. The clients wanted a spacious apartment, with integrated spaces and light tones. The original property had a balcony, which was integrated into the new living room and enclosed in glass. The window frames in the living room were redone, allowing for total openness and ensuring greater integration with the balcony.
The living room was given a generous layout, with walls clad in natural freijó panels and an articulated brise soleil, with an original design and organic shape, which separates the room from the entrance hall. The dining room received a set of bookshelves and slatted ceiling, providing a more welcoming and visually rich environment. The TV room was fitted with mirror-covered sliding panels, which allow it to be integrated with the living area, but also allows it to be used more intimately - it can even be used as a guest room, thanks to the use of a sofa bed developed especially for this project.
One of the owner's wishes, the floor-to-ceiling wine cellar was designed to visually participate with the living rooms, and received glass doors and special lighting. The powder room was paneled in wood using the Japanese Shou Sugi Ban technique, which consists of treating the wood using a blowtorch, creating a black tone and a peculiar texture. The worktop was made from the same material as the floor in the apartment, a large format Italian porcelain tile.
The bedrooms, which have natural Tauari wood floors, received special cabinetry to meet the needs of each resident - from the teenage children to the newly arrived baby girl. The couple's suite received a Freijó wood panel, with thin slats in a linear geometric pattern, and a bookcase that combines a desk and TV stand. Contemporary Brazilian design pieces coexist in harmony with works of art from the couple's private collection, creating a pleasant environment to live in and, at the same time, an elegant place to receive guests.
