Architect Taiza Santos' connection with the theme of CASACOR Santa Catarina 2024 - which, among other things, encourages “a deeper appreciation of everyday experiences and beauty” - brings together art, wine, ancestry and architecture in the creation of the Adega da Artista Plástica, in honour of Vera Sabino, one of the most important artists in the state and in the country. The largest exhibition of its kind in the Americas is on show in Florianópolis until 24 November at the D/Season Residence Club (Rodovia João Paulo, 2285, João Paulo).

To celebrate the career of the artist and folklorist, Taiza, who has an emotional memory of a canvas that used to enchant her at her grandparents' house, has selected some of Vera Sabino's works. Visitors to the 160m2 wine bar will be able to see works from different phases of the artist's career up close. Some have never even been exhibited in public spaces. And artist Paulo Ricardo Campos has done a rereading of Sabino's works, producing an exclusive canvas for the space, as well as three tapestries signed by Ariadini Giardullo Marconi.

Functional, the environment is designed to cater for lovers of the best labels: ‘The idea was to give cellar-goers privacy by creating various micro-environments. With an architecture that provides comfort, with light and music at the right height, we present a perfect space for more intimate get-togethers,’ explains Taiza.

The intimate atmosphere is reinforced by the choice of colour palette. Marsala appears in the velvet curtains and moss green, both in the carpet, two of which were designed by Taiza herself, and in the greenish stones that cover the floor. On the walls, woody oak brings cosiness, while the cladding on the pillars, with a forest print, is reminiscent of the work of Vera Sabino, a lover of flora and fauna, especially that of Santa Catarina.

Within the composition of the Artist's Cellar, the loose furniture stands out, many of them made of leather, positioned in the micro-environments created by the architect. Among the design pieces are the Ishi Sofa, by Dimi Kuroki; the Vito coffee tables, by Studio Mooringa, and Triângulo, by Studio Mapa; the Due side table, by Bruno Faucz; and the Longeva armchairs, by Mauricio Bomfim, and Galápagos, by Fabrício Roncca. The bar, whose mirrored counter is another highlight, features the Campestre stools by Leiva Arquitetura.

Architect Taiza Santos' partners in CASACOR Santa Catarina - Florianópolis 2024 are: Banco BRB, Carol Cortinas, Carol Decor, Cindapa, Claro, Clean New, Conexão Preservadas, Contti Home Design, Cris Metal, Cumbuca, Daito Planejados, Duvino Vinhos, Nordecor, Pierini Revestimentos, Stecanela Materiais Elétricos, Sudati MDF and Tintas Coral.
